DEMOCRATS DUCK CLUB 20 LEGISLATIVE DEBATES

Scanlon, Nicholson Fail to Show

Grand Junction- Two Democratic state legislative candidates failed to appear today for debates sponsored by Club 20, the respected, non-partisan voice of western Colorado.

"It is appalling that these Democratic candidates snubbed western Colorado by ducking Club 20's debates," said Colorado Republican Chairman Dick Wadhams. "Christine Scanlon and Jeanne Nicholson must know they're on the wrong side of the issues and are afraid to defend their positions."

Democratic State Rep. Christine Scanlon failed to show up for the House District 56 debate with Republican challenger Debra Irvine.

Democratic candidate Jeanne Nicholson failed to show up for the Senate District 16 debate with Republican candidate Tim Leonard.
