Drop-off Ballots at the civic center; mail before Nov. 1

COMMERCE CITY, COLO. – Fourteen will vie for five open city council seats in Commerce City's upcoming coordinated election. Voters will elect a mayor, two at-large council members and representatives from Ward II and Ward IV on Nov. 1 as well as decide four ballot questions. In an effort to increase government transparency and educate residents, the city’s election website has all the information needed to help make an informed decision.

Residents can view informative candidate videos, fact sheets and required financial filings at www.c3gov.com/elections by clicking on the 2011 Candidate Information link. This information will be updated as materials are provided.

“This year we wanted to elevate our informational efforts to help educate residents as much as possible,” said City Clerk Laura Bauer. “Having documents available on our website, similar to other municipalities and state agencies, increases accessibility to information and further advances the city’s efforts to be transparent in our daily business operations.”

The Adams County Clerk & Recorder has mailed ballots to all active voters within the city. If you did not receive a ballot, contact the Elections Division at 720-523-6500. Residents have until Nov. 1 to request and pick up a ballot in-person at the Adams County Government Center, 4430 S. Adams County Parkway, Brighton. All ballots must be received by Nov. 1. Residents can also drop off completed ballots at the Commerce City Civic Center, 7887 E. 60th Avenue.
