Adams County School District 14’s Board of Education calls for nomination of candidates for the Board Directors to be placed on the ballot for the regular biennial school election to be held on Nov. 1, 2011.
For the 2011 election, three directors will be elected for terms of office of four years. To be qualified, a candidate must have been a registered voter in the school district for at least 12 consecutive months before the election. A person is ineligible to run for school director if he or she has been convicted of committing a sexual offense against a child.
A person who desires to be a candidate for Board Director shall file a written notice of intention to be a candidate and a nomination petition signed by at least 50 eligible electors who are registered to vote in the regular biennial school election.
Nomination petitions may be obtained at Adams 14 Educational Support Services at 5291 East 60th Avenue. Office hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays. Completed petitions should be submitted to Assistant Secretary to the Board of Education Monica Avina, the District’s designated election official, no later than 3 p.m. on Aug. 26, 2011.
