Rep. Gardner to Pres. Obama: show us your plan to lower gas prices

Rep. Cory Gardner (R-CO) is calling on President Obama to release a detailed plan for lowering gas prices, strengthening consumer purchasing power and stimulating economic growth.

“The policies promulgated by this administration continue to promote energy production overseas, leaving our resources largely untapped,” Gardner said. “Moving forward with energy production at home can influence prices today by building in expectations about future outputs. It also creates good-paying jobs and lays the groundwork for fewer imports in the future.”

In a letter that was delivered to the President, Gardner asserts that government has the necessary tools to lower gas prices by increasing domestic oil production on and offshore.

Some frightening statistics about gas prices:

National average for a gallon of regular gas: $3.93
Prices are up 19 cents from one month ago and $1.00 from this date last year
