Where’s the Budget, Ed?

Frazier balances budgets, while Ed avoids budgets altogether

Aurora, CO – Aurora City Councilman Ryan Frazier, candidate for the 7th Congressional District, has voted to balance Aurora’s budget seven times, while incumbent Democrat Rep. Ed Perlmutter, and his boss Speaker Nancy Pelosi, did not even take the time to vote on a budget in 2010.

“Instead of passing a budget this year, Ed voted to spend trillions in taxpayer dollars, raise taxes on hard working Colorado families, and drive up our national debt,” said Tyler Q. Houlton, Frazier’s spokesman. “Where’s the budget, Ed? And why haven’t you balanced it like you promised?”

In a 2008 House floor speech, Perlmutter claimed his party would balance the budget by 2012. Instead, America’s budget deficit has tripled to $1.4 trillion, in two short years, due to Perlmutter’s spending spree.

According to The Hill, “The House has never failed to pass an annual budget resolution since the current budget rules were put into place in 1974.”

“After promising this would be the most transparent, ethical, and open Congress in history, Ed broke this promise in under 20 months,” Houlton concluded. “This dereliction of duty is disgraceful.”
