As Ballots Drop, Tancredo Fires on Hickenlooper Over Sanctuary Cities

Father of child slain by illegal targets Hickenlooper over reckless immigration policies

GREENWOOD VILLAGE, CO—Tom Tancredo, candidate for Governor, today announced that he will be airing the Marten Kudlis ad on television this week to bring attention to the dangerous sanctuary city policies supported by Denver Mayor and gubernatorial candidate John Hickenlooper.

3-year-old Marten Kudlis was in an Aurora Baskin Robbins getting ice cream with his mother when Francis Hernandez, an illegal immigrant, caused a collision at the store killing Kudlis and two women and injuring several others.

Despite having an extensive criminal record which included some 16 arrests prior to causing the fatal crash, Hernandez had never been deported.

“This election is not for student body president. It is not a popularity contest. In some cases, the issues facing the next Governor literally amount to life and death. We are losing our state, and this advertisement underlines that fact in a dramatic way,” said Tancredo.

In the video, Marten’s father Marat Kudlis tells of what happened to his son and why he is supporting Tom Tancredo:

An illegal alien crashed into a Baskin Robbins store and killed my 3-year-old son Marten.

The illegal alien had been arrested 16 times but never turned over to immigration because of the sanctuary city policies that Mayor Hickenlooper supports. I am sending you Marten’s picture, Mr. Mayor. Try to sleep at night knowing your policy contributed to his death.

My wife and I are legal immigrants. Tom Tancredo is our choice for Governor.
