Senate Dems Play Politics with Defense Bill

“The appointed senator should stand up to his party leadership and tell Harry Reid to stop playing political games with the defense of our country.”

Denver, CO—Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said on Tuesday that he will attach a controversial immigration measure, the DREAM Act to a defense policy bill.
“Sen. Reid is playing politics with our troops and veterans,” said Ken Buck, Republican candidate for U.S. Senate. “A defense bill is not where you put forward controversial immigration measures. I call on appointed Sen. Michael Bennet to put away his rubberstamp and fight against including the DREAM Act measure in the defense bill.”

“Sen. Bennet has been on the wrong side of the immigration issue for far too long,” Buck added. “The appointed senator should stand up to his party leadership and tell Harry Reid to stop playing political games with the defense of our country.”
