Romanoff Backs Elizabeth Warren: 'A Champion of the Middle Class'

U.S. Senate candidate Andrew Romanoff issued the following statement: I support the nomination of Elizabeth Warren to lead the Consumer Financial Protection Agency. The CFPA needs a strong leader who puts the interests of the American people first.

Ms. Warren has the experience and expertise necessary to accomplish that mission.

Ms. Warren has long been a champion of the middle class and an advocate for a protection agency dealing with risky mortgages.

For the last two years, she has chaired the Congressional Oversight Panel and been tasked with reviewing the problems with the financial markets and regulatory system. She also evaluated the Treasury Department's handling of TARP money to ensure the Treasury Department is using the money in the best interest of the American people.

Ms. Warren is an expert in bankruptcy and is a professor of law at Harvard.
