Frazier Calls for Geithner’s Resignation

Asks Perlmutter to join bi-partisan push for new policymaker

Aurora, CO – Ryan Frazier, Republican candidate for the 7th Congressional District, today called for the resignation of U.S. Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner. Geithner, who has faced heavy bi-partisan criticism for his handling of our economic recession, has overseen a drastic increase in national unemployment numbers and the national debt, as well as advocated for Wall Street bailouts and a failed TRILLION dollar stimulus program.

“We simply cannot spend our way to economic prosperity and job creation,” Frazier said. “It’s time for a new leader at the Treasury Department and a way out of our economic crisis.”

Frazier also called on his opponent, incumbent Democrat Rep. Ed Perlmutter (D-Golden), to join him in calling for Geithner’s resignation.

“Ed has been a rubberstamp for the Washington establishment for the last four years,” Frazier concluded. “I hope he breaks ranks with Pelosi, for the first time, and joins me in pushing for a new economic advisor at the Treasury Department.”
