Bauer Endorses Norton for Senate in GOP Primary

Norton "stood for principle against a powerful lobby"

WASHINGTON, Aug. 3 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Former presidential candidate Gary L. Bauer on Tuesday endorsed former Lt. Gov. Jane Norton in the GOP Senate primary in Colorado, calling her a "committed conservative who will unapologetically defend the commonsense values of the American people."

Bauer, a veteran of the Reagan White House, is chairman of the Campaign for Working Families, one of America's leading conservative political action committees. CWF recently announced a target list of more than two dozen races in which conservatives are poised to take leadership in key offices.

"Jane Norton's commitment to using the tax payers money judiciously and with consideration for the common sense values of her community is clearly seen through her leadership in defunding Planned Parenthood. The profitable abortion industry should not receive tax dollars from hardworking people who do not support that industry's chief purpose, ending unborn lives, and Jane Norton truly stood for principle against a powerful lobby," Bauer said.

Bauer noted that Norton's willingness to fight for smaller government and less obtrusive government is a vital qualification for office in this economy.

"While the socialist experiment in Big Government is collapsing in Europe right before our eyes, the Obama Administration is growing the government, expanding entitlements, producing record deficits and adding trillions of dollars to the national debt," Bauer said. "Jane Norton can make a difference in rolling that back."

The Campaign for Working Families (CWF) exists for the express purpose of supporting candidates who will proudly promote conservative values, such as the defense of the traditional family, the sanctity of human life and the promotion of individual liberty and free enterprise.
