Frazier Denounces Perlmutter, Obama on Deficit and Unemployment Numbers

Dems triple budget deficit in two years, break promise to hold unemployment at 8 percent

Wheat Ridge, CO – Ryan Frazier, a partner in a small business and candidate for the 7th Congressional District, today denounced Rep. Ed Perlmutter (D-Golden) and President Barack Obama for drastically increasing our budget deficit and breaking their promise to keep unemployment at 8 percent.
“This administration has done nothing but break promises,” Frazier said. “Washington needs to learn that our economic crisis cannot be solved by reckless spending and higher taxes.”

On Friday, the White House announced America’s budget deficit will hit another all-time high at $1.47 TRILLION for 2010. In 2008, under President George W. Bush, the U.S. budget deficit was already a staggering $438 billion. Two years later, Barack Obama and Rep. Perlmutter more than tripled that number – despite criticizing President Bush for his budget deficit.

On September 10, 2008, from the House Floor, Perlmutter stated, "[The Bush budgets have] run the deficit to levels we have never seen before, which then have resulted in foreclosures, job losses, and a whole variety of things."

President Obama and Congressional Democrats promised America’s unemployment rate would not climb higher than 8 percent if their $787 billion “stimulus” bill passed. The White House recently reneged on its pledge and stated the U.S. unemployment rate will stay at, or above, 9 percent through 2012.

“The Obama administration continues to raise taxes and increase spending at unprecedented levels at the expense of the American taxpayer and businesses across the country,” Frazier concluded. “Perlmutter is out of touch with the voters of the 7th Congressional District as he continues to be a rubberstamp for the Obama-Pelosi agenda. I'm running for Congress to restore our conservative principles, balance our budget, and create new jobs to get our economy moving in the right direction."
