METRO NORTH REGION, COLO Adams County and State Legislative candidates will come together to debate pressing business issues affecting the region on Monday, September 13, 2010 at 4:30 PM at City of Thornton Council Chambers located at 9500 Civic Center Drive in Thornton , CO . The debate, jointly hosted by the Metro North Chamber of Commerce and Metro West Newspapers, is intended to provide voters with an opportunity to hear first hand from candidates regarding their positions on projected budget deficits, transportation, workforce development, education and other critical business priorities.
“The future of our communities depends on leadership that is in alignment with our business priorities,” stated Deborah Obermeyer , President and CEO of the Metro North Chamber of Commerce. “The past few years have served as a prime example of why we need strong elected representatives in position to push for those business interests that create quality education and employment opportunities, and an environment where businesses can thrive. We can not leave our futures up to chance.”

Obermeyer urges members of the business, education, non-profit communities as well as the general public to attend the debate.

“We are directly responsible for electing those officials who help shape our business environment. We need to know who the candidates are, what they represent, and what their priorities are before we hit the ballots,” said Obermeyer. “The Metro North Chamber is a strong advocate for the best interests of businesses, the creation of jobs and for those measures that are in alignment with an economic growth-focused agenda. We are pleased to provide the community with an opportunity to hear directly from candidates regarding these critical priorities.”

The event is open to the public with seating for two-hundred available of a first come, first served basis. For more information visit www.MetroNorthChamber.com or call 303.288.1000.
